Posiflex Displays GT-7100

A new terminal for POS, the GT-7100 Series, has been presented by Posiflex (Hayward, CA). It embodies the concept of "Just Screen, No Distractions" by integrating an ultra-narrow 4 mm/0.2" bezel (in 15.6" multi-touch screen version), 400 nits on-cell display (in both 15" and 15.6" multi-touch screen versions), and Intel Tiger Lake Core 11th Gen i3 and i5 CPU. A fan-free architecture runs Windows 10/11 IoT O/S.

A folding base and compact footprint, with sleek design, reduce space on the counter for retail and hospitality environments for the GT-7100. It supports peripheral attachments on both the left and right sides for enhanced accessibility, with USB x 4, Powered USB, Serial, Cash Drawer, and LAN. A USB Type-C addresses multiple output needs and an internal connector supports customer-facing displays (CFD).

As durability, Posiflex GT-7100 features an IP-65 rated front panel for splash and dust. A GT-7100 Q Series addresses pole-mounted installations for both 15" (GT-7115 Q) and 15.6" (GT-7116 Q) with brackets of VESA 75. A tool-free hatch allows easy access to I/O Ports. "By merging its refined design with advanced functionality, the GT-7100 offers an unparalleled blend of form and function," indicated Posiflex.

Epson Flexes TM-T20IV

A handy thermal receipt printer, Model TM-T20IV, with 3"/76 mm print width, has been unboxed by Epson America (Los Alamitos, CA). In dimensions of 5.5"/140 mm (W) x 7.9"/200 mm (D) x 5.8"/146 mm (H), weighing 3.8 lbs./1.7 kg, the TM-T20IV has print speed of 9.8"/250 mm at 203 dpi resolution. Significantly, it features two built-in connectivity packages: USB + Serial and USB + Serial + Ethernet, notes Epson.

In addition to iOS, Android, and Windows O/S, TM-T20IV supports Epson's ePOS Service for direct printing from mobile devices or web applications. An icon-driven status LED facilitates troubleshooting and maintenance. As another advanced feature, top-margin and character-height reduction technology helps reduce paper usage by up to 30%. Options from Epson include Wireless Adaptor and External Buzzer.

Bixolon Rolls On

A next-generation, direct-thermal label printer, Model SRP-Q300II, has been stocked at Bixolon America (Torrance, CA). In compact, cubic form factor of approximately 5"/125 mm W x L x H, weighing 2.7 lbs./1.2 kg, the SRP-Q300II furnishes hub/mPOS capability with USB Type-C power delivery. With print widths of 76 mm/58 mm (3"/2"), it features maximum print speed of 9.8"/250 mm per second at resolution of 203 dpi. An IP-21 rating seals against splash and dust.

A trio of sensors indicate paper end, cover open, and near end, with easy paper loading. In addition to multiple USB, and Ethernet, the SRP-Q300II offers Bluetooth 5 and dual-band WLAN (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz). It supports iOS, Android, Windows, and Linux O/S. As an option: web-based printer management software, XPM and XCM.

A Star in Cash Drawers

A family of new cash drawers, entitled the CD5 Max Series, has been introduced by Star Micronics America (Somerset, NJ). In four models--spanning compact to enterprise formats--the CD5 Max Series features durable all-steel construction, dual-locking mechanisms and under-till compartments for security, and glossy black finishes (with or without stainless-steel fronts). Of particular interest to VARs and ISVs, select models support dual interfaces (Printer Driven/DK and USB).

An "ultra-compact" model, CD5-1316 (13"x16"), addresses very space-sensitive environments, including mPOS. A "full-size" model, CD5-1617 (16"x17"), with two media slots, addresses the SMB. A "heavy-duty" model, CD5-1817 (18"x17"), with single media slot, addresses grocery and dispensary markets. Finally, an "enterprise-level" model, CD5-1918 (19"x18"), with three media slots, addresses big-box environments.

Elo Counts to 10

A mobile tablet for POS, featuring 10" projected-capacitive touch display, has been unveiled at Elo (Knoxville, TN). In dimensions of 10"/255 mm (W) x 6.4"/162 mm (H) x 0.5"/14 mm (D), weighing 1.7 lbs./0.8 kg, the new Elo Pay M100 has secure integrated payments--MSR, EMV, NFC, and Pin-on-Glass (and optional scanner for QR Code). It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core CPU, 4 GB RAM/64 GB Flash, and Android 12 GMS.

Additional data collection includes fixed-focus front camera at 5 MP and auto-focus rear camera at 8 MP. As wireless communications, there's Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi 6, and Cellular. An 8000 mAh Li-Polymer battery provides up to 12 hours of continuous use. In durability and sealing against splash and dust, Elo Pay M100 meets IP-54 and MIL-STD-810G.

A new payment management solution engineered for small-to-midsized business (SMB), called Evolve, has been launched at PAX Technology (Jacksonville, FL). Utilizing the Uptrillion Cloud Commerce Platform by PAX, Evolve has features such as dual pricing (cash vs. credit), flexible hardware choice (including HaaS), and comprehensive reporting and analytics, encapsulated PAX. Addressing the channel of VARs, ISVs, and ISOs, it supports the PAX A77, A80, and A920 Max Payment Terminals.

A step forward in cash handling, as new hardware, designated Note Acceptor, has been debuted at apg (Minneapolis, MN). In fighting counterfeiting and theft, it validates and stores high value notes in 145 currency configurations (of U.S. Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling). It detects fraudulent and counterfeit bills in 2.5 seconds, according to apg. In steel-case dimensions of 5.5"/140 mm (W) x 10.6"/270 mm (D) x 9"/230 mm (H), weighing 4.6 lbs./2.1 kg, apg's Note Acceptor has mounting points on all four sides and LED Status Indicator.
